Rules
REGISTRATION
1)
A team is to consist of at least 5 registered players (over
18) at the start of the season. No
person under the age of 14 may play in the league.
2)
Each team is to complete the PLAYERS REGISTRATION FORM and
return it to the Divisional Representative by the date stated on the form.
3)
A player may only play for one team (unless they transfer)
and is deemed registered to a team once they have signed the PLAYERS
REGISTRATION FORM.
4)
NEW players can be signed on during the season “on the
night” up to 28th February by completing the new players signing on
form and returning it to the Divisional Representative.
This is to be received by
5)
A Player who is already playing for a team may transfer to
another team up to 31st December. The transfer fee is £5.00 and the
Player must complete and return the TRANSFER FORM to the Divisional Rep, to be
received BEFORE the player plays for their new team.
6)
Any team/captain/player found falsifying signatures on the
Result Sheet or any team playing an unregistered player will have 2 points
deducted.
FORMAT FOR GAMES
1)
The Winter League season will be September to June.
2)
Teams are expected to fulfil ALL their fixtures and complete
the season. If for any reason a team
cannot fulfil a fixture, the captain or a team representative is expected to
contact the Divisional Representative as soon as possible to notify them. Providing the
Divisional Representative and both captains agree, a fixture may be cancelled
and re-arranged to be played on another night of the week.
If however this is not possible and a team cannot fulfil a fixture, rule
6 and 7 applies.
3)
The match shall consist of 10 Singles, 2 Pairs and a Team Game.
Matches will be played on a Tuesday Night and will start at

sheet must still be completed in full and signed by the players of the innocent
team and returned to the Divisional Representative to receive any points. Captains are advised to phone the
venue if the team is going to be late. This
time penalty is optional to Captains. Instead
of claiming frames, Captains can still play the frames even though the team has
turned up late!
4)
ALL players must PRINT and sign their name PROPERLY before
playing their match, HOME team first.
5)
A team must have at least 4 players to play a match,
otherwise they will be classed as "Failing to Turn Up".
See Rules 6, 7 and 9. Captains,
if you have a 14-17 year old in your side please make sure that you confirm with
the venue first that they are allowed in the premises and can play.
6)
Teams failing to turn up to their match will receive No
points. The innocent team will be awarded a 9-0 frame score win and the Team
Game and they will receive 2 points. The Guilty team will be given a YELLOW
CARD. See Rule 7.
If there is an exceptional circumstance as to why the
team has not turned up, the YELLOW CARD may not be given by the Divisional
Representative and in some instances, the Divisional Representative may ask for
the game to be re-arranged instead.
The result sheet must still be completed in full and
signed by the players of the innocent team and returned to the Divisional
Representative to receive any points. If
the food has already been prepared by the innocent venue the Guilty team will be
required to reimburse the innocent venue £5.00 towards the cost of the food.
7)
If a team who is given a yellow card fails to turn up again
for the remainder of the season they will be removed from the league with no
right of appeal. This applies
to League and K O Cup matches.
8)
Play must be CONTINUOUS.
Once a frame has been finished, the balls must be racked up immediately
ready for the oncoming player to start the next frame. A player can, if
selected, play in 2 games of singles, ONCE in each half and 1 game of pairs so a team can consist of
between 5 and 14 players. If a
player does end up playing twice in the same half, or twice in the pairs then one point will be deducted
from the guilty team regardless of what the result is between the teams.
9)
In the event of a team dropping out or a team being removed
from the League in the first half of the season then all points, frames will be
reversed from the League tables as if the team never existed.
However if this happens during the second half of the season then only
the points, frames during the second half of the season will be reversed, unless
all 18 League matches have been played in which case the final league table will
stand, however, any trophies that may have been won by the team or players of
that team will automatically be forfeited.
10)
The match sheet is the responsibility of the WINNING team.
In the event of a draw the HOME team will be responsible for the match sheet.
This must be received by the Divisional Representative,

OLD EPA RULES to apply in all competitions. (copy enclosed),
with the following changes:
a)
From the break, if the player pots a colour they can
nominate the other colour that was not potted, however, they must pot that
colour on their next shot, otherwise it is an “OPEN” table.
b)
On all shots (except in a total snooker) the player must
either pot a ball, or after making initial contact with a colour, cause the cue
ball or any object ball to contact a cushion.
12)
The Team Game result will count towards the "Team
Game" trophy, the rules of how to play this competition is on the result
sheet. Even though you only need 4
players to play League Matches, you must have a minimum of 5 Players to play the
Team Game, otherwise it is forfeited.
13)
All games are to be played in a Sportsmanlike manner.
COACHING is NOT ALLOWED. Only
one warning will be given to the offending player/team.
Two shots will then be awarded to the innocent player/team if the
COACHING continues.
14) Players are to referee their own games, with captains over-viewing matches and settling any disputes/complaints between themselves. If there is a dispute/complaint no other team member should interfere whatsoever unless asked to do so by a captain. Should they interfere then the frame will be awarded to the innocent player/team.
If for any reason
a dispute/complaint cannot be settled on the night, the Divisional
Representative must be notified of the dispute/complaint by

The HOME team is to provide Food Free of Charge and pay for
the games.
16)
The Pool Table MUST be 7 X 4 in size, with the balls being a
different colour to the cloth.
17)
Teams from the same venue WILL NOT play each other in the
last match of the season!
POINTS
AWARDED
1)
For Reaching 7 frames or more - 2
points are awarded.
For Reaching 6
frames
- 1 point is awarded.
If both teams are
short of players, the number of frames will be reduced accordingly.
2)
At the end of the season in the event of a tie on points,
the winner of the Division will be determined by Frames For.
If the Frames For are the same, there will be a play-off between the
teams in question. Plays-Offs may be
played on another night of the week depending on the fixtures.
3)
For the "Team Game" trophy 1 point will be awarded
for each Team Game Won. (League Games Only).

At the end of the season in the event of a tie for the "Team
Game" Trophy there will be a play-off between the teams in question.
Plays-Offs may be played on another night of the week depending on the
fixtures.
PROMOTION AND RELEGATION IN EACH DIVISION
1)
In each Division TWO teams will be promoted and TWO teams
may be relegated.
DIVISIONAL REPRESENTATIVES
1)
You will receive from your Divisional Representative a
League Table after the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 13th League Match has been played
and also after the 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th and 26th League Matches have been
played.
2)
Please make sure you check the league table and the Player
Averages and notify the Divisional Representative of any mistakes you think have
been made as soon as possible.
3)
You will receive paperwork for other competitions taking
place at least 2 weeks before the competition is due to take place.
If for any reasons you have not received paperwork, please contact the
Divisional Representative immediately.
4)
The Divisional Representative for Both Divisions is Nicky
Binden, Legends Cue & Sports Club,
1)
All perpetual trophies won must be exhibited on the premises
for which the team winning the trophy played for and all Winners of said
trophies are responsible for their loss or damage.
2) Trophies must be claimed at the Presentation Night. Any team/individual failing to accept them on this night will automatically forfeit them. (Unless previously agreed by the Committee)
A
Trophy will be awarded to the player who has the best average in each Team.
For a player to be eligible they must have played at least 75% of the
frames during the season.
Only League Games apply with 1 point per frame won will be awarded.
In the event of a tie on points, the winner will be determined by
calculating the % number of frames won against the number of frames played.
If the % average is still the same, the players in question will each
receive the award.
OVERALL CONSISTENCY WINNER
A Trohpy will be awarded to the player who has the best average in the whole Division after all league matches have been played. SEE BEST TEAM PLAYER for rules.
The
Top 16 players who have the best average in the Division will play off against each other.
For
a player to be eligible they must have played at least 75% of the frames during
the season.
1)
To be eligible to participate, the player must have been the
registered captain for that team for at least 11 league games (50% of the league
matches) and must still be the captain when the competition takes place.
2)
If the captain is unable to participate then the
vice-captain may play instead, providing he/she has been the registered
vice-captain for at least 11 league games (50% of the league matches) and is
still the vice-captain when the competition takes place.
1)
Any registered player(s) may
enter either of these competitions. Players enter at their own risk and NO
Refunds will be given. Under 18's will be drawn at a venue where they are
allowed to play.
2)
No player may represent any other team other than the team
he/she represents nor may he/she pair up with anyone other than a member of the
team he/she is registered for.
3)
In the Pairs, you may pair up with someone else in your team
for the 1st Round of the competition only, providing the player does not already
have a partner.
4)
If a player transfers from/to your team, Rule 3 applies.
5)
Playing the wrong format will mean disqualification.
The
player MUST break and clear the table in one visit only to have an 8-Ball
Clearance.
Any
players who achieve an 8-Ball clearance will receive a Trophy.
KNOCK OUT CUP
COMPETITION
1)
The Knock Out Cup will consist of 10 Singles and 1 Pair.
The first team to reach 6 frames will be the winner.
2)
Playing the wrong format will mean disqualification.
